The school base is located on the bank of the Jialing River in Chongqing and is built on the hillside. The variable natural topography gives the greatest possibility for the creation of a "Bonsai City". We compare the relationship between base and buildings with the relationship between mountains and rivers. The mountain in the base naturally forms the motif of the mountain, while along the mountain, the architectures are arranged overhead like water,which not only expand the space for students’ activities,but allows the natural attributes to permeate the buildings.

The concept of "Bonsai City" based on Chinese traditional culture can effectively pass on the simplest humanistic feelings through spatial organization. We create a new type of academy through the nine palaces and courtyards, and also strive to create a diverse cultural atmosphere on the campus, and strengthen the learning experience through different sense of place.
